The “DEE LAWRENCE” Stove Research Center was established as a result of our team’s visit to the facilities of the Aprovecho Research Center in Oregon. This experience opened the door for Proyecto Mirador to implement a dedicated laboratory for conducting tests and trials aimed at improving thermal efficiency, heat transfer, and reducing pollutant emissions (CO₂, CO, and particulate matter) from our “Dos por Tres” stove.

In April 2024, we received a visit from Engineer Jaden Berger of Aprovecho, who supported us with equipment installation, calibration, training, and the execution of our first tests.

Proyecto Mirador is positioned as one of the first stove programs to invest in a research center of this kind. Since its implementation, we have conducted over 60 tests under the ISO 19867-1 protocol. The results have provided valuable insights into possible adjustments and improvements to our “Dos por Tres” stove.

In addition to laboratory studies, we are implementing these improvements in the field to assess both performance and user adaptation. Currently, we are working on optimizing materials with the goal of streamlining construction and enhancing performance.

The “DEE LAWRENCE” Stove Research Center reflects our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Every test, every adjustment, and every advancement brings us closer to a more efficient and sustainable future. We remain dedicated to transforming lives one stove at a time.
