The Mepilex Border Post‑Op Ag (REF 498600) is an antimicrobial, self‑adherent soft silicone foam dressing designed for post-operative incisions measuring approximately 4 × 12 inches. It features Mölnlycke’s patented Safetac® wound contact layer, which adheres gently to skin without sticking to the moist wound bed—minimizing trauma and pain during removal. The bordered foam design absorbs medium to high exudate volumes, helps prevent maceration, and supports early patient mobility thanks to its flexible “Flex technology” shape that conforms well over joints and moving areas.
This version is impregnated with silver sulphate particles, providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy, shown in vitro to kill 99.9% of various bacteria within 30 minutes and maintain activity for up to seven days. The dressing’s waterproof outer layer protects against external contaminants and allows patients to shower comfortably. With high absorbency, it reduces dressing change frequency, cuts dressing-related costs, and supports optimized wound healing with minimal disruption.
