Helping communities in Guatemala

Helping communities in Guatemala

Guatemala is currently the largest consumer of firewood per capita in Central America. There are close 2 million families still using traditional fogon cookstoves.

Many communities must cut more trees, use more firewood, and produce more smoke every day when they have to cook with a traditional fogón.

This has a huge impact on the environment and the health of rural families. Proyecto Mirador has been working in Guatemala since 2019 and communities have received the Dos por Tres stove model with great joy and acceptance, as is reflected in their art.

There is still a lot to be done for the people of Guatemala.
